for the people asking…

i work at an electronics store (The Source) and the 3DS XL was already on sale for 179.99 (instead of 199.99)

when i ordered it there was an ongoing promotion that gave you a $25 gift card to use in-store on a subsequent purchase if you spent over $100, so i got that. the promotion ended 2 days ago.

i also found out there’s a trade-up program that lets you trade in a working older DS model for $50 credit towards a new 3DS. i refunded my original purchase (even though i already qualified for the gift card) and bought it a second time, this time trading in my old DS for credit.

i’m giving the gift cards to my friend who is also trading in her old DS - she can use them towards her new 3DS (since I can’t use them on the original purchase that qualified me for them)

179.99 - 25.00 - 50.00 = 104.99 (before tax)

wow so after the in-store rebate my brand new 3DS XL is only costing me $104.99 before tax
